Product Information
- (4-Hydroxyphenyl)(2,4,6-trihydroxyphenyl)methanone
Iriflophenone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have high values in the genus Ligustrum and is found in the leaves of plants. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on hemolysis, as well as an antioxidant effect. Iriflophenone binds to galacturonic acid and phenolic acid, inhibiting oxidation. It also inhibits postprandial blood glucose levels by blocking hydrogen bonds between glucose and water molecules. This inhibition prevents the conversion of glucose into sorbitol, which can induce cell death. Iriflophenone has also been shown to inhibit hepg2 cells and protocatechuic acid production. The matrix effect may contribute to this inhibition by binding the enzyme and preventing it from functioning properly.
