Product Information

Name:
Scillascillin
Description:

Scillascillin is a carbohydrate that is found in the plant family Scilla. It has been shown to have anticancer activity and is used as a pharmacological treatment for cancer. Scillascillin can also be used to treat metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus and leukemia, and it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. The uptake of scillascillin by human cells has been studied using human lung adenocarcinoma cells (HL-60). This drug binds to the surface of the cells and then enters the cell through an unknown mechanism. Once inside, scillascillin inhibits several enzymes that are involved in glucose metabolism, which leads to decreased levels of plasma glucose after ingestion of food.
