Product Information
Epoxyparvinolide is a natural product that belongs to the group of sesquiterpenoids. It has been isolated from the rhizome of Parviflorus parviflorus and exhibits cytotoxic activity against human cancer cells. Epoxyparvinolide is an inhibitor of protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) in vitro and in vivo, which may be due to its ability to bind to the enzyme and block its catalytic site. This leads to increased levels of tyrosine phosphorylated proteins, which are involved in cell growth, differentiation, and survival. Epoxyparvinolide also has been shown to inhibit the production of nitric oxide (NO) by activating soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC).
