Product Information
Scutellaric acid is a natural compound that has been shown to have anticancer activity against β-cells. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells in vitro by inhibiting cell division and inducing apoptosis. Scutellaric acid may be used to treat hepatic steatosis, which is caused by the accumulation of fat in the liver, as it is shown to reduce lipid levels in the liver. This compound is also a glycosidase inhibitor and therefore may be used as a dietary supplement for pancreatic cancer. The chemical structures of scutellaric acid are similar to those of pomolic acid, which can act as an anti-inflammatory agent and decrease the risk of atherosclerosis. Scutellaric acid has been studied using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and was found to contain two methyl groups and one hydroxyl group.
