Product Information
PBTZ169 is a new drug that is being developed for the treatment of tuberculosis. It inhibits the growth of corynebacterium glutamicum, which has been shown to be resistant to many other drugs. PBTZ169 binds to the hepg2 cell and inhibits the production of ATP in these cells. This binding prevents the formation of ATP-inhibitor complexes with phospholipid membrane enzymes, leading to cell death. PBTZ169 also demonstrates synergistic effects when combined with nitrofurantoin or rifampin antibiotic combinations.
