Product Information
Leachianone G is a cytochrome P450 inhibitor that binds to the heme-iron of the enzyme and prevents it from catalyzing reactions. Leachianone G has been shown to inhibit the growth of herpes simplex virus in vitro. It also inhibits plant cell and animal cell growth, as well as pancreatic lipase activity. Leachianone G is active against many bacteria, fungi, and parasites. The optimum concentration of leachianone G for inhibition was found to be 10 μM. The prenyl group on the leachianone molecule enables it to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules, which may contribute to its inhibitory activity.
