Rocacetrapib is an investigational drug that belongs to the class of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) inhibitors. It has been shown to have antiviral activity against SARS-CoV and may be useful in the treatment of other viruses, such as HIV and influenza. Rocacetrapib has also been shown to inhibit cell growth and induce apoptosis in human lung cancer cells, which are resistant to cisplatin.
