Product Information
- Pyridine, 3-Chloro-2-Ethoxy-
3-Chloro-2-ethoxypyridine is a regioselective halogenation of pyridines that has been used in the synthesis of paroxetine, an antidepressant. The chloropyridines are intermediates in the preparation of the Grignard reagent and the magnesium derivatives. 3-Chloro-2-ethoxypyridine is also used as an electrophilic agent in organic synthesis, and can be quenched by thiolates to form stable thioethers.
