4-Methoxy-N-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)methyl)-butanamide is a metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) agonist. It has been shown to produce concentration-response curves in functional assays with glutamate that show an amide concentration-response curve, as well as an allosteric modulator profile. 4-Methoxy-N-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)methyl)-butanamide has also been shown to have anxiolytic properties and may be useful for treating cognitive dysfunction related to schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease.
