Product Information
Sahandol is a lamiaceae plant extract that induces apoptosis in cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit cell signaling pathways, such as the activation of NF-κB and MAPKs, which are involved in cancer development. The apoptotic effect of Sahandol was observed in both tumor cells and normal cells. This extract also has anti-protozoan activities, including inhibition of Leishmania amazonensis proliferation and reduction of the number of oocysts released by infected sandflies. The anti-protozoan activity may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis at the ribosomal level. Sahandol can be used for the treatment of diseases caused by protozoan parasites, such as leishmaniasis and malaria. Sahandol has been shown to have significant apoptotic activities in clinical studies with human subjects suffering from leukemia, lymphoma and breast cancer.
