Adjudin is a drug that binds to the energy metabolism protein Adjudin and inhibits its function. It has been shown to have a long-term toxicity effect on rat sertoli cells, which is due to its inhibition of drug transport. The contraceptive effects are mediated by its ability to inhibit cell division in meiosis, leading to reduced sperm production. Adjudin has also been shown to have DNA binding activity in vitro and epithelium-specific cytotoxicity in vivo.
