Product Information
PEPPSI-SIPr is a solid form of the catalyst that is used for cross-coupling reactions. It is prepared by reacting chlorides with a silica gel in the presence of triethylamine and pentane. The chloride reacts with the silica gel to produce a halide, which can be removed by adding ethanol. The PEPPSI-SIPr catalyst has been shown to react with benzofurans to form chlorobenzofuran and chlorobenzothiophene. This catalyst is insoluble in most solvents, including pentane, so it must be stored in an airtight container when not in use.
