Description:This sequence corresponds to the peptide bond between mammalian Lys29- (K29) linked Ub proteins- where (GG) corresponds to the C-terminus of the side chain appended Ub.K29-linked chains are assembled by the HECT E3 ligase KIAA10/UBE3C that assembles K29- and K48-linked polyubiquitin chains. K29-linked polyUbs are involved in growth and development-associated pathways (Wnt/β-catenin signalling), and are also implicated in regulation of mRNA stability and the epigenetic regulation and transcription of a set of interleukins (IL12 and IL23). In addition to this, K29-linked chains are also associated with the 26S proteasome, which suggests a role as a proteasomal degradation signal.
