Description:RAGE antagonist peptide is an S100P-derived peptide based competitive antagonist for receptor for advanced glycation end product (RAGE). Recent studies have shown it to disrupt the interaction between RAGE and its ligands, such as S100P, S100A4 and HMGB-1 in binding assays and in multiple cancer cell lines. As well as this, it also blocks RAGE-dependent NF-kB activation in MPanc96, MOH and HPAF II tumor cell lines.Systemic administration of RAGE antagonist peptide also diminishes NF-kB signaling in vivo and significantly reduces glioma tumour growth in murine models.
