Evidence suggests EBV infection provides an enhanced immune response against other future heterologous infections. Murid herpesvirus 4 (MuHV-4) in mice can be used as a model to help understand herpesviruses. The peptide provided here (ORF65131-140) has been used in CTL assays to show that MuHV-4 improves the effector CD8+ T cells response against a heterologous virus. MuHV-4 ORF65131-140 epitope can stimulate interleukin production ex vivo and be detected by tetramer staining to MHC.
