Product Information
Virosine B is a nitrate that is found in the margaritaria plant. It has shown to have anti-latent effects on the replication of HIV and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). The stereoisomers of Virosine B have been shown to be more potent than Virosine A. Virosine B has also been shown to inhibit the transcription of viral gene expression and the synthesis of proteins, which are necessary for viral replication. This drug also inhibits the translation of viral RNA into protein, which blocks the production of new viruses. Through genetic studies, virosin B was found to inhibit myeloid cells and stimulate natural killer cell activity.
