Meo-2pacz is a perovskite with a monolayer structure. It is an absorber in organic solar cells, as it absorbs photons and converts them to an electric charge. The dipole moment of this material is larger than that of any other known material, which leads to high absorption coefficient and long diffusion length. Meo-2pacz has been used as a light-harvesting layer in organic solar cells. This material can be prepared by the solvothermal method at room temperature, without the need for high pressure or vacuum conditions. The typical morphology of Meo-2pacz crystals is an elongated hexagonal shape with a thickness of about 1 nm.
