Description:Ampk activator 1 is a lipid-lowering drug that activates the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway. Ampk activator 1 inhibits the enzyme lipoprotein lipase, which is responsible for hydrolyzing triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to decreased levels of free fatty acids, increased levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL), and reduced levels of low-density lipoproteins (LDL). Ampk activator 1 increases the expression of perilipin, an endogenous protein that regulates the activity of lipases in adipocytes. This compound has been shown to activate AMPK in liver cells and skeletal muscle cells.
