FGF-9 has been shown to activate EGFR and ERBB2 (HER2) receptor tyrosine kinases. In addition, it has been demonstrated to inhibit chloride channels such as CFTR and K+ channels. FGF-9 is a potent inhibitor of protein interactions with the extracellular matrix (ECM).
