Product Information
- 3,4-Dibromoacetophenone
1-(3,4-Dibromophenyl)ethanone is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to have immunosuppressive properties. It inhibits the production of cytokines in human T cells and suppresses the immune system. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the replication of viruses such as HIV, herpes simplex virus type 1, and influenza A virus. The mechanism of action is not known but it may be due to its ability to bind to DNA or interfere with their replication process. 1-(3,4-Dibromophenyl)ethanone binds tightly to cyclic compounds such as artemisinin and triazole derivatives. This compound has also been found in solvents such as cyclohexane and benzene.
