Product Information

Name:
o-Nornuciferine
Description:

O-Nornuciferine is a sphingolipid metabolite that is found in the leaves of the plant, Nymphaea nouchali. It has been shown to inhibit hepg2 cells as well as melanogenesis. The potential mechanism for this inhibition is by blocking the synthesis of dopamine, which is required for melanin production. O-Nornuciferine has potent inhibitory activities against aporphines and anion radicals. This compound also has an efficient method of extraction from biological samples by using solid phase microextraction with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separation. O-Nornuciferine inhibits the growth of cancer cells in culture and can be used in combination with other compounds to treat skin disorders such as vitiligo or psoriasis.
