Description:

2,6-Diamino-3-nitropyridine is a chemical compound that has been used as a catalyst for hydrogenation reduction in the synthesis of various organic compounds. It is a colorless solid that can be obtained by reacting ethyl chloroformate with ammonia and pyridine. 2,6-Diamino-3-nitropyridine can also be synthesized by ammonolysis of chloroformates or maleates with ammonia. The reaction mechanism of this process is similar to that of the catalytic hydrogenation reduction. This chemical is used in the preparation of flupirtine maleate, an anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic properties.
