Product Information
Agatholal is a fatty acid that is synthesized by plants as part of their response to biotic and abiotic stresses. It is a substrate for the synthesis of other fatty acids and can be used as a treatment for sick plants. Agatholal binds to the enzyme fatty acid elongase, which catalyzes the conversion of malonyl-CoA into acyl-CoA, which can then enter into the lipid biosynthetic pathway. Agatholal has been shown to be effective in binding experiments with subtilisin.
