The solvent is then dehydrated to produce 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-Heptachloropropane. The solvent is also used in organic solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone and butyl acetate for the production of other chemicals. 1,1,1,2,3,3,-Heptachloropropane can also be produced by adding zinc powder to scission reactions with metal salts or transition metals.
