Description:
Eicosanyl caffeate is an extract from the leaves of the thymelaeaceae plant that has been shown to have a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria and fungi. The extract contains a mixture of phytochemicals, including dibutyl, octadecyl caffeate, apigenin, hexadecanoic acid, eicosanyl caffeate, pinoresinol, and pinoresinol diglucoside. The most active component appears to be eicosanyl caffeate. Eicosanyl caffeate is also able to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro.
