Naftoxate is a drug that is used as a diagnostic tool for the detection of antigen-antibody complexes. Naftoxate is reconstituted in water and then mixed with the protein solution to be tested. It binds to the molecule of interest, forming an insoluble complex that can be seen under a microscope. The ligand-target binding affinity is also determined by measuring the reaction between Naftoxate and its target molecule.
Naftoxate has been shown to bind to sequences on the surface of cells, which are targets for drugs such as iontophoresis, hydrophobic molecules, or other diagnostic devices.
