Chlamydocin is a natural product that has been isolated from the fungus, Cladophialophora carrionii. Chlamydocin is an analytical standard for HPLC and has been shown to have antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The chemical structure of chlamydocin consists of a tricyclic lactam core with two hydroxy groups on the C-6 and C-7 positions, respectively. This secondary metabolite contains a bicyclic lactone ring with an oxygen atom at the C-2 position and an amide group at the C-3 position. The CAS number for chlamydocin is 53342-16-8.
