Product Information
Neorauflavane is a natural compound that has potent inhibitory activity against cellular processes. It was shown to have an inhibitory effect on tyrosinase, and has been used in clinical trials for the treatment of skin disorders such as melasma, hyperpigmentation, and acne. Neorauflavane inhibits tyrosinase activity by competitive inhibition, binding to the active site of the enzyme. The process optimization demonstrated with neorauflavane shows that it is a potent inhibitor at low concentrations (Ki=1.5 μM) and has a kinetic profile similar to that of hydroquinone. This inhibition profile is attributed to its ability to bind to the enzyme's active site and act as a competitive inhibitor because of its high affinity for tyrosinase. Neorauflavane also showed immunosuppressive activities in mice when administered intraperitoneally (IP) at doses of 100-150 mg/kg body weight. This
