Description

Lycernuic acid A is a natural product that was isolated from the plant Palhinhaea cernua. It has been shown to have potent antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Bacillus subtilis. Lycernuic acid A inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit in bacteria and preventing the formation of an aminoacyl-tRNA complex.
