2-[3-(4-Chlorophenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]acetic acid (CLPA) is an anti-infective agent. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of microbial infections, including those caused by bacteria, fungi and protozoa. CLPA inhibits the growth of infectious organisms by interfering with their metabolism. This drug has shown efficacy against a number of infectious diseases caused by Gram negative bacteria, such as bacterial meningitis and septicemia. CLPA also has anti-inflammatory effects on inflammatory bowel disease and polycystic ovarian syndrome. The terminal half life of this compound is approximately 8 hours, which makes it suitable for once daily administration.
