Aristolactam BII is a pharmaceutical preparation that contains fatty acids and Velutinam. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, which may be due to its inhibitory effect on the production of prostaglandins. Aristolactam BII also has neuroprotective properties, which may be due to its ability to increase mitochondrial membrane potential in the nervous system and protect against reactive oxygen species. Aristolactam BII is not active against cancer cells, but it does have an anti-cancer effect by regulating the expression of genes involved in cancer cell proliferation. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of fetal bovine brain tissue and cancer cells from various tissues including breast, liver, prostate, colon, and lung. This pharmaceutical preparation is found in food at low concentrations.
