Description:
2-Methoxy-6-nitrobenzoic acid is a perchloric acid derivative that is used as a catalyst for the hydrogenation of indoles and indolines to their corresponding cinnolines. The substituent in 2-Methoxy-6-nitrobenzoic acid is methyl group. This compound can be isolated by recrystallization from water and has been shown to catalyze the hydrogenation of indole derivatives with palladium as a catalyst.
