Product Information

Name:
Pyranojacareubin
Description:

Pyranojacareubin is a natural pigment that is extracted from the bark of the Calophyllum inophyllum tree. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and has been proposed as a possible therapeutic agent for cancer treatment. Pyranojacareubin inhibits the growth of Leishmania by inhibiting the synthesis of prenyl and leucoprenoids, which are essential for cellular membrane integrity. Pyranojacareubin also inhibits the growth of organisms such as Amastigotes and Infantum. Pyranojacareubin was shown to inhibit cell proliferation, induce apoptosis, and exert anti-inflammatory effects in SK-MEL-28 cells. The skeleton structure of pyranojacareubin was elucidated using 2D NMR spectroscopy; it is a prenylated flavonoid with an unusual C-4′ linkage to its quinic acid moiety.
