Product Information
S16961 is a high-purity peptide fragment of the human calcitonin receptor. The S16961 peptide has been shown to bind to the calcitonin receptor and activate it by stimulating the adenylyl cyclase enzyme, which in turn increases intracellular levels of cAMP. This activation leads to inhibition of osteoclasts, which are cells that break down bone tissue. S16961 has also been shown to inhibit ion channels, such as calcium channels, and may be used as a research tool for studying the effects of ion channel inhibitors on cell biology.
