Product Information
6-Epi-albrassitriol is a natural product with anticancer activity. It is an analog of the natural brassinosteroid, albrassinolide. 6-Epi-albrassitriol has been shown to induce apoptosis in human cancer cells by binding to and activating the receptor for epidermal growth factor (EGFR). This compound also induces apoptosis in fungus cells by binding to and activating the receptor for epidermal growth factor (EGFR). The compound was isolated from Penicillium sp. cultures, which were found to produce 6-epialbrassinolide as a metabolite. The yield of this compound has been reported to be ~2mg/L culture broth.
