Description

Salviaflaside is a natural compound that belongs to the group of carotenoids. It is a lipid-soluble molecule that can be found in the plant Salvia officinalis. Salviaflaside has been shown to have antioxidative properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and scavenge free radicals. The antioxidant properties of this molecule have been shown to have an effect on the matrix effect and hydrogen bonding. Salviaflaside also has an effect on energy metabolism, as it was found to increase mitochondrial membrane potential and reduce oxygen consumption rate in cells.
