Description:

NGD 94-1 is a dopamine receptor agonist that is used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It is a potent and selective dopamine D2 receptor agonist that binds to the dopamine D2 receptor with high affinity (Ki = 0.6 nM). NGD 94-1 has been shown to have functional activity as a dopamine D2 receptor agonist in animal models, which may be due to its ability to increase levels of intracellular cyclic AMP and inhibit adenylyl cyclase activity in neuronal tissues.
NGD 94-1 has also been found to be effective at reducing the symptoms of schizophrenia in clinical trials, with an effect size that is comparable to other antipsychotic drugs.
