Azido-dPEG®4-NHS ester is a bioconjugate that has been used to synthesize glycan structures on proteins. It is a water soluble, reactive, and biocompatible molecule that can be used to conjugate glycans to proteins in order to study protein glycosylation and antibody binding. The synthesis of glycoproteins with the azido-dPEG®4-NHS ester has been found to be successful in the presence of an excess of fatty acid, which provides protection against degradation by enzymes. The azido-dPEG®4-NHS ester has also been applied in immunoassays and as an immobilizing agent for enzymes such as creatine kinase.
