Product Information

Name:
2-Methyl-1-[(oxan-4-yl)amino]propan-2-ol
Description:

2-Methyl-1-[(oxan-4-yl)amino]propan-2-ol is a synthetic compound that has been shown to bind to the kinase domain of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). The binding of this drug was found to be a competitive inhibitor of PP2A. This drug has been used for the treatment of infectious diseases and for the diagnosis of various neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. 2-Methyl-1-[(oxan-4-yl)amino]propan-2-ol binds specifically to PP2A in mitochondria and axons, suggesting that it may have a role in axonal growth. It also inhibits viral polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of type species viruses, such as HIV and hepatitis C virus.
