L-Alanine-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin hydrochloride is a non-fluorescent protein with a molecular weight of about 12,000 Da. It has high enzymatic activity and can be used as an aminopeptidase inhibitor. L-Alanine-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin hydrochloride is insoluble in water and has a conformation that can't be changed without denaturation. The immunoprecipitation of L-alanine 7 -amido 4 -methylcoumarin hydrochloride can generate a vaccine against metacyclic trypomastigotes. The biochemical characterization of this protein showed that it has lipase, arylsulphatase, and amylase activities. This protein was expressed in E coli BL21(DE3) cells and refolded to its native form by the addition of urea at pH 8.5. Down
