Description:1-Methylestrone is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C14H18O2. It is an estrogenic metabolite of estradiol, and is formed from the metabolism of estradiol by CYP1A2 and other cytochrome P450 enzymes. 1-Methylestrone has been shown to be an activator of certain estrogen receptors, such as ERα and ERβ, in breast cancer cells. 1-Methylestrone also has been shown to inhibit the production of cyclic AMP by phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) in prostate cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein interactions.
