- Cassythine
Cassyfiline is a chromatographic method for the separation and identification of aporphines, which are alkaloids that occur in plants. Cassyfiline has been used to identify aporphines in urine samples. It is also used as an insecticide against mosquitoes and parasitic plants such as Portulaca oleracea. The interaction between cassyfiline and hydrochloric acid can be studied using UV absorption or dichroism spectroscopy.
