The drug also inhibits phosphodiesterase activity in nasal tissue and parathyroid glands, leading to increased levels of intracellular cAMP. 4-Isopropylphenyl)acetaldehyde is only active against cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases that are sensitive to inhibition by this compound.
