Product Information
- Tetraphenyldiboroxane
Diphenylborinic anhydride is a boron-containing compound that inhibits the transport of Ca2+ across the cell membrane. It is able to inhibit the Ca2+ uptake in mammalian cells and primary keratinocytes by blocking the cytosolic Ca2+ channels, which are activated by hydrogen bond formation with 2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate. Diphenylborinic anhydride has been shown to have a biphasic response, with a rapid inhibition of transport at low concentrations and a slow inhibition at high concentrations. The mechanism of this inhibition may be due to its ability to bind to magnesium ions and form magnesium salt complexes that are transported less efficiently than free magnesium ions. This molecule also reacts with detergents in solution, forming cation channel inhibitors.
