Description:
4,4-Diphenyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one is a dienone that has been shown to be unreactive and kinetically stable. It can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds. 4,4-Diphenyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one has also been shown to have protonation properties. With irradiation, it undergoes photochemistry reactions leading to the formation of singlet carbonyls. The solvent effect on this compound is not known.
