It also inhibits the enzyme squalene epoxidase, which is required for the production of sterols and other compounds in fungi. 4-Chloro-6-methyl-2-(propan-2-yl)pyrimidine has shown to be active against many strains of Aspergillus, including those resistant to other antifungals.
