Description

2-Bromoethylphenyl sulfide is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of pyrroles. It can be synthesized by reacting triethyl orthoformate with ethyl esters, followed by reaction with piperazine and arylation. The resulting product can then be reacted with alkylating agents such as sulfides or polyhalogenated compounds. 2-Bromoethylphenyl sulfide has been used for the synthesis of lamellarin, an important natural product for palliative treatment against cancer.
