Product Information
Alicapistat is a small molecule that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. Alicapistat prevents ischemia-reperfusion injury in animals by blocking the production of reactive oxygen species and reducing oxidative damage to the body. It also has anti-cancer properties, as it blocks iron uptake into cancer cells and inhibits cancer cell proliferation. Alicapistat is a nonselective inhibitor that binds to many different proteins, including enzymes such as proteases and kinases, which may affect physiological function. The drug has also been found to be effective in preventing inflammation caused by mesenchymal stromal cells
