Description:
2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-3-pentanone imine is a catalytic reagent that is used in organic synthesis. It hydrolyses tert-butyl chloride to produce tert-butanol and hydrogen chloride gas. 2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-3-pentanone imine can be used for the oxidation of chlorides to produce chlorocarbons or for the conversion of ketones to pivalonitrile. This compound has also been shown to be capable of oxidizing dienes and pivalonitrile at low temperatures.
