- Frequentine
Frequentin is a peptide that is used as a research tool to study protein interactions and protein-protein interactions. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) and potassium channels. Frequentin also inhibits the binding of ligands to their receptors, including glutamate and GABA. This peptide can be used in pharmacological studies for its ability to bind to proteins, but it cannot be used therapeutically because it is rapidly degraded by proteases.
